The Generac A0000501971 now serves as the replacement for the discontinued Generac 0E9323 and 10000001020 starter motors. Both starter styles are currently utilized by Generac and perform identically.
The 0E9323 Gear Reduced 1kW starter generator motor is designed to be compatible with various air-cooled standby generators made after 2006 with a power rating of 10kW and above.
Generac has made a modification to the nose cone of the A0000501971 starter, impacting the mounting point on the engine block. In specific applications, this change might cause interference with the heat shielding on the blower housing. To address this, the nose cone can be swapped from the old starter if it's in good condition, or the heat shielding can be adjusted to accommodate the new starter properly. It's essential to note that this issue is not applicable to all generator models.

Tried buying an aftermarket version of this starter on Amazon. It kept binding after I installed it, and there is no way to shim it. I sent that back and ordered this starter and it arrived in a Generac box. I've only had it installed for 3 weeks but the weekly runtime just happened which reminded me to leave this review. Thank you for selling name brand and not substituting a cheap version. I tried to save a couple bucks, but that came back to bite me as I had to change the starter out twice.
