The 32-098-10s inertia starter drive offers several improvements over its predecessor, including a stronger shaft, a 9-tooth pinion, and patent RDD (rubber disc drive) technology. This starter exhibits higher torque and speed, resulting in a cranking speed of 80 rpm faster than the previous model.

The introduction of a shorter motor with a cold-forged pinion, covered end cap bearing, and a new 9-tooth pinion enhances the overall stability of cranking and provides increased torque. With higher speed translating to more frequent pinion and ring gear meshing, this starter ensures better roll-over engine speed and eliminates hot restart stalling issues. The reduction in current further contributes to the stability of the starter.
